Lyrical Pontiff - ON THE DAY MY HEART WAS BROKEN

On the day my heart was broken
A butterfly circled a nectar.
A fisherman mended his frail net.
There was mad traffic at Rumuokoro roundabout.
The butcher resized the meat on his table.
Bus drivers roggered policemen as it had always been.

On the day my heart was broken
Men and women walked to their farms with tools.
Insecticide peddlers shouted in the streets.
A drunkard slept at the edge of a gutter.
Airplanes landed on the runway.
Nepa smiled at us and closed its eyes laters.

On that day, the nights were starry,
The moon was above and earlier the sun blazed.
And those who expected earthquakes and tsunami
Were disappointed, I was disappointed in myself.
My emotions were the only lightning and thunder,
That day wasn’t the end of the world…
