Dr (Engr.) Olufemi Lalude was the first managing director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company, occupying this position he made headlines many years ago after it was confirmed that he rejected a bribe of $6 million offered to him by an organisation.

On Wednesday, September 9 Akinjide Adeosun Foundation (AAF) honoured Dr. Olafemi Lalude for such display of honesty and integrity. The Foundation honored him with its 2020 Integrity in Leadership Award during their 5th annual gathering. Akinjide Adeosun Foundation went on to praise the 81 year-old man for refusing to be tossed by such amount of money in a country where corrupt practices seem to be the order of the day.

The Foundation wrote “Today, papa at 81 is living a peaceful, joyous and fulfilled contended life. We are celebrating him today. He began his career with integrity as his legacy in mind”.

They went further to say that there are many good citizens of Nigeria who deserves to be celebrated in order to change the perception that all Nigerians are bad.
